According to easyroommate.co.uk, 100,000 young people are being forced into flatsharing because of the rising cost of rent.

Currently the average price of rent across the UK is £705 a month which is up 0.6% compared to last month and is the sixth consecutive rise in three months according to LSL property service who run the buy-to-let index.

“The low level of mortgage lending to first-time buyers had been a bottleneck for buyer demand, driving thousands of frustrated first-timers into rented accommodation,” said Jonathan Moore, a director of easyroommate.co.uk
