UK Inflation Increases 0.2%
New figures released by the office for national statistics show their was an increase in the Consumer Price Index inflation (CPI) by 0.2%.
The Retail Price Index (RPI) has remained unchanged however clothes and footwear increased by the biggest percentage since records began.
“The big picture is still that rises in energy prices and in particular the VAT hike at the start of the year are still keeping inflation high,” said Colin Ellis, chief economist at the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association.
