The UK economy grew by 0.2% in the 2nd quarter of 2011 according to GDP figures release by the Office for National Statistics however the previous quarter seen an increase of 0.5%.

The new figures have also revealed their was an increase of 0.7% between Q2 2010 and 2011.

From the table above we can see that construction grew 0.5% on the previous three months while production industries shrank 1.4%.

“The positive news is that the British economy is continuing to grow and is creating jobs,” said Chancellor George Osborne.
