Unemployment for the UK fell by 26,000 in the past three months to reach 2.45 million people.

However the number of people claiming job seekers allowance increased by 24,500 in June compared to May but the discrepancy is being blamed on a change to how benefits are calculated.

People can find their debt problems spiral out of control when they lose their job. Often a manageable debt situation becomes uncontrollable because of interest and charges being accrued when the minimum contractual payments are not met.
