UK Inflation Rate Rises To 4.5%
According to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) UK Inflation has risen to 4.5% in April which is up 0.5% from 4% in March.
The rise which was higher than expected is believed to be due to the cost of transport, alchohol and tobacco increasing.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said “by far the largest upward effect” on prices came from air transport, where fares rose by 29% between March and April. Sea fares rose by 22.3%.”
